Conservation
Our mission is to the preservation and protection of wildlife. Discover how we are committed to conserving and caring for our planet's biodiversity for future generations.
Extinction is forever
The rapid expansion of the human population and the unsustainable use of the planet's natural resources are having a major impact on biodiversity, which is consequently declining at an overwhelming rate in recent years. Life on Earth is threatened.
Zoos, aquariums, parks and nature reserves now play a key role in the survival of endangered species. Together, these institutions are now veritable Noah's Arks. They contribute and collaborate through education, scientific research and the local, European and global implementation of conservation measures for species and their habitats, right up to the reintroduction of species into the wild.
In the next 25 years, 1/4 of all mammal species and one in eight bird species are at risk of extinction.
